Text Box: Pastor's Thoughts

Early this morning I was watching and listening to the birds. I saw cardinals; a blue jay, black birds, a robin, several sparrows and I heard crows in the distance. All birds, yet so different in how they glide through the air, their sounds, and habits. Next I got caught up in watching some sparrows. They all look alike, sound the same, they kind of bob and weave in flight. For the most part they are all the same.
But what about people? There may be different colors, shapes, some are tall, and some are short. Each one sounds so distinctive. Just a few words spoken and you can identify them individually. I have never looked at a person and thought, you are just like all of the rest of them… no we are all so distinct and so complex. Oh yes, let me mention that we are always changing. I never think of a sparrow changing, if I see one today and I see it again tomorrow, it is just the same sparrow, nothing different. Not so with people, they change their minds and point of view moment by moment it seems. Well Pastor get to the point already, well maybe I won’t , see you just never know with people.
Let’s move up the latter from sparrows – to people – to God. God is the same yesterday, today, and forever. He is absolute perfection and never needs to get better and can never become less than perfect. He not only made Adam and Eve but made it possible for each of us to come into this world and have the opportunity to spend eternity with Him. God doesn't see us like sparrows. He does not view us a blacks or whites, as Asians or Chinese; grouping us into categories based on our habits or tendencies. God always sees us, and know us as we are in each of those passing moments of change.
After watching the birds for a few minutes this morning, I probably won't give them another thought today unless one flies in front of my car. However when it comes to God, He never take his eyes off of each of us. Ever watching, always interested, and always caring about who we are as an individual. God know me better than I know myself and He still loves me, Not just today, everyday.
God's love is so amazing so vast and high, I cannot understand the depts. of His compassion. However what I can do is stand in awe of my Heavenly Father and by faith know that I can rest in His loving arms forever because of what Jesus did for me on the cross. I can put my trust in His care place my faith in His word and hope that one day He will take me in His hands that I might see Him as He fully is, my eternal Lord, He is my God!
Always your servant,
Brother Danny
