Text Box: Pastor’s Thoughts

There is hope for the helpless, peace for the troubled, saving grace mixed with love that will mend any broken heart, and oh yes, the life directing Word and Spirit that can guide anyone through a sin cursed world right into the arms of our loving God. There are churches that still care, love, and share Gospel truths that can transform men, women, boys and girls into children of God affording them access to all of the promises of God. There are Christians who remain faithful to God’s calling to go into all of the world to teach the things Jesus taught, enabling willful followers to discover and live in God’s will.

There are those who suffer every day. Sickness, pain, sorrow, and grief continue to confront the living on a day to day basis. Broken relationships, anger, frustration, poverty, and abuse persist with their never ending power to cast down the human spirit producing hopeless and lonely souls. We live among vile and evil people whose heartless disrespect produces awareness that nothing or no one is fully secure around them. This is the world in which every person must navigate therefore I am fully persuaded that everyone needs the Lord!

Jesus is the greatest hope this world can ever receive. He heals our brokenness, comforts, mends, sustains and brings assurance that the whole world rest in His nail scarred hands. He stands with us when the world does its best to defeat us. He reassures us when the enemies of faith seem to be getting the upper hand. Then when our very life feels threatened, He stands ready to walk with us through the valley of death.

I believe with all my heart that people need the Lord. I’m not always sure what it is going to take to get them to realize that fact, but I believe what Jesus said in John 12:32, “And I, if I be lifted up from the earth, will draw all men unto me.” My prayer for today is simply, Lord help me to help the world to see You high and lifted up!
