Text Box: Pastor’s Thoughts

I was thinking, what voice are we listening to?

Why do God's Children sometimes drown in sorrows knowing that Jesus walked on the water?
Why would a Christian have to surrender to sin when Jesus completely defeated sin on the cross?
Why do the storms of doubt and fear flood the souls of believers, when Jesus calmed the storm saying to the wind, peace be still?
Why do the saints worry about daily provision when Jesus reminded us of the lilies of the field and the birds of the air?
Why would a member of God's family feel lonely and neglected when Jesus promised to be with us always until the end?
Why does it seem the church is declining when its leader stated if I be lifted up I will draw all men unto me?
Why are we not inviting friends and family to church services knowing that the Lord said, the fields are ready for harvest but the laborer are few?
Why do those struggling with faith neglect church services, when faith comes from hearing the word?
Why is it when God makes it clear what we are suppose to be doing, we look for excuses to be doing other things?
Why do we expect God's blessing of a powerful and effective witness when we neglect or ignore His word?

I was thinking, what are we thinking? Maybe if we would simply learn how to listen to Jesus, follow His instruction, and commit ourselves wholly to His will, then every issue that hinders our utter success in living a Christian life would melt and disappear like the winter snows. Humm! Just thinking!
