Text Box: Pastor’s Thoughts

There is something about that name, Jesus! It identifies the one and only hope of eternal life, the only person who can reconciliation us to God the Father, and Jesus alone can empower our present life with the Spirit of God. John identified Jesus as the Word of God made flesh. Jesus told His disciples if you have seen me you have seen the Father. While traveling with the two confused and bewildered disciples on the road to Emmaus, Jesus used the writing of Moses and all the prophets to reveal His true identity as the Messiah.

His name speaks to my heart. It resounds with sacrifice and triumph. Jesus, the name touches the core of my soul with wonder of deep passion and unconditional love. That name lifts me from a world of sin, shame, and humiliation ending in death into the vastness of eternal hope and glory. That precious name cast off the limitations of humanity for it offers access into the presence of an all mighty God who reveals Himself to me as MY FATHER. At the mere mention of the name, Jesus, I can offer God my praise and express my thanksgiving and love toward the Lord God almighty. What an amazing and awesome name.

When I am troubled with the cares of life, I can call out to Jesus! When faced with sickness or pain, I trust in that name! What other name can be whispered when sorrow and grief cast their dark shadow of gloom as the enemy of our souls, death, for the moment seems to get the upper hand. Jesus is Life. The hope I have found in Him dispels that darkness and shines the light of His second coming and the glories of His resurrection power. He will leave no one as dust in the grave but raise each and every one of us to forever exist in Heaven or Hell. He is WAY to Heaven! He is the TRUTH we all must confess! He is the LIFE that we all long to possess! Jesus there is something about that name!
