Text Box: Pastor’s Thoughts One of blessings I’ve enjoyed lately is the cool temperatures that allows for more time on the porch. The sound of the birds, the wind whispering through the trees, and the distant call of a rooster all remind me of my heavenly Father. Whether it is the fresh air, the smell of newly mowed grass, or an occasional aroma from one of our rose bushes; they all make me more aware of the Lord’s presence. I love watching the buds forming and flowers blooming. The sight of a newly ripened strawberry, a cucumber that is almost ready to pick, or just wondering if those tomatoes are ever going to turn red remind me of God’s faithfulness and ever present involvement in my well being. Passing white clouds painted against a majestic blue background, remind me, He is coming again and will soon carry me into realms of eternal bliss. For some reason I don’t get the same sense of His presence when I am working on the computer, watching the television, or busy with the cares of life in general. I know He is always there. I know there are no walls made by man that are thick enough to limit His involvement in my life. But being surrounded by His creation, seeing, hearing and smelling the things our God made for our enjoyment, have a way a reaffirming His love and care for me. There is however a place that is set aside that always gladdens my heart. That place is the house of worship, my local church. It is there I enjoy the sounds of saints singing praises to my God, the prayers of His children add a sweet fragrance that carries away my burdens. I see beautiful things there which can't be seen with human eyes. God's word reveals truth that makes me a better man. God's Spirit opens the windows to my heart and shows me how I can please my Father in Heaven. I come to this place to be reminded of my Lord, my Savior, and my Eternal Hope. His name is Jesus. Father, thanks for the cool spell you sent our way and for the vast and unsearchable ways you reveal your passion for each of us. Thank you for a local place where I can gather with other believers for support, encouragement, friendship, fellowship, instruction from your word, and needed correction through your Spirit, May our worship and praise of your goodness reach your throne and reveal our deep love for you? Father you are so amazing!
