Pastor’s Thoughts
Today is Monday December 22nd,
just three days before Christmas day. All our Christmas Worship services for 2014
have passed and as a Pastor I am already thinking about how I am going to
present the Glorious Message of Jesus for the last time in 2014. There are so
many good people who have missed another year of opportunities to enter God’s
Kingdom. I can’t help but wonder, was there more that I could have done to
persuade or influence others to invite Jesus into their hearts?
Children often make their Christmas
list and spend days wondering if their wishes will be granted and if they will
find everything they wanted under the tree Christmas morning. I’m not much on
wishing or for that matter wanting things, but I find myself praying more and
more for those who are neglecting the opportunity to be saved by and through
the grace of God. Dear reader if you’re not enjoying the blessing of a real
relationship with Jesus why not? Another year has passed, what are you waiting
for?
Now that 2014 is history, I want to
encourage you my church family to be more diligent in 2015 in your efforts to
invite others to come to church services, remind as many as you can of our
Savior’s love, and do all you can to make Christ known to a world in need of
His salvation. As individuals we can make a difference and together we can make
Disciples of Christ. I’m looking forward to what God has for the Fayetteville
First Church of God in the upcoming year.
