Pastor’s Thoughts

Today is an opportunity to walk in the will of God our Father. Daily duties, responsibilities, and needs steer us like the wind drives a sail boat but we seem to always find our way back home at the end of the day. Today is a day with distinct possibilities and personal encounters will never be repeated when the two of you are at that exact point in spiritual thought. It is not so much the where and what a day holds as it is how we deal with the passing moments and distinct possibilities.

Is our relationship with Christ open and intimate enough for the Lord to use our personal encounters to meet the needs of others? Is His Word and Holy Spirit fresh and alive within your spirit today, ready and available to express the love and glory of God our Father enabling others to see what real faith looks like? Has the idea of living to please our Savior crossed you mind today?

I know that we have a tendency to put all the emphasis on the “great events” of our life, but could it be that a consistent godly Christian walk is what our Father wants most from us? Think with me as a parent if you will, would you rather your children take 3 or 4 days a year and really get down to business and clean their room in a tremendous effort to please you, or would you rather for them to pick up after themselves, dust, sweep and clean on a day to day basis? It is the consistent godly life of a believer that will prove to be the greater blessing in the long run my friend.

That being said, let us daily strap on the whole armor of God, take up our cross daily, and let our light so shine before men that they may see our good works and glorify our Father which is in Heaven! Together God’s children can change the world and make it a better place to live one relationship at a time as we take advantage of our daily opportunities to be a blessing in a world that has been cursed with sin.
