Pastor’s
Thoughts
We Are So
Blessed!
The love of God has been demonstrated
in a multitude of ways, from His created universe to the cross where he offered
His Son for our Salvation. His love can be seen in the brilliant colors of the
spring flowers and heard in the sound of the bird’s song. But let me say that the
love of God is best felt in the heart and soul of every child of God. His
abundant pardon, daily provision, and unfailing promises are often ignored by
those who reject his passionate forgiveness, but to those who have accepted his
atoning grace; these blessings are the fuel that keeps the fires of His
abundant love blazing within.
We are so blessed to be forgiven
and cleansed from sin. In a nation that has lost is respect for Biblical
authority and Godly values, in a culture that has turned to all that appeals to
carnal flesh driven desires, and in a time when the importance of a holy and
godly lifestyle has been lost in the illusions of Hollywood’s redefined
measures of success; we can continue to rejoice in the blessing of sins
forgiven and cleansed from our lives. We can know first hand about God’s divine
deliverance and His power to keep that which we keep committed unto Him. We no
longer have to be servants to sin. God’s love has provided for our deliverance,
He gave us his Son, the Lord Jesus Christ! When some boast of how the blood
covers it all, speaking of how they can continue to sin and not have to worry
about the consequences of that choice, there are true believers who embrace the
Biblical truth of full salvation that enables God’s Children to resist
temptation and therefore live in Biblical holiness. There is a vast difference
between the two views, for full salvations means that we are no longer sin’s
slave and therefore are no longer subject to its vile effects in this world or
the world to come.
God’s love has blessed His
children with the divine provisions of His Word and His Spirit to enable them
to live Godly in this present world. Paul writes in 1 Cor. 10:13 of the “the
way of escape”, and James describes the process of temptation, sin, and death
in James 1:23-25. It is only through the blessed provisions of God that
believers can escape the way of death. We commit ourselves to the Word of God
and abide in the Spirit of God, resisting worldly enticements and denying the
lust of the flesh thus finding the way of escaping the corrupting influences of
this present world. Praise God we don’t have to live in sin any longer! We are
so blessed because God’s love gives us reason to rise above this old sinful
world!
Then there are those precious
promises given to each of God’s kids. These promises are to
many to number however each promise offers its own distinctive blessing. There
are promises of peace, joy, care, and provision for all of our daily needs. He
offers assurance that He will be with us in the storms of life, he will walk
with us in the valley of despair, and His most precious promise of all -- He
will travel with us through the shadow of death and deliver us safely in the
arms of a loving Heavenly Father on the other side.
As I said there are too many of
His blessed promises to number, but know this dear reader, I am so blessed that
I could never find all the ways to describe it to you, I will just say it as I
have heard it said before, it is far
better felt than told!
I’m so blessed,
Pastor Danny
