Pastor’s Thoughts
As we open our hearts to celebrate another Christmas season, may our focus be drawn to God’s gift of love. There are multitudes of traditions that brighten our city streets and homes, family gatherings culminating in a feast that leaves little room for Christmas candy, cantatas and plays along with caroling and Christmas messages add sounds unique to the season. With all the commotion it is easy to loose our focus on whom and what we are celebrating.
Let Christ, not simply an image of a manager, but Jesus, God’s gift to our world be the object that captures your affections. God so love us that he offered the world a part of Himself. Jesus was sent to give us hope, peace, and to offer us His amazing saving grace. God knew what that offer would cost long before He ever framed this world, Jesus, God’s Son would offer his life as the Lamb of God that would take away the sin of the world. What a gift.
If you get up Christmas morning and find no gift under your tree, stockings filled with coal, and nothing in the fridge; don’t despair and fall into a state of perpetual depression. Simply put on your spiritual glasses so that you can refocus, God’s gift is right in front of you, embrace Him and you can sing with the angels, Joy to the world, the Lord is come! I hope you have a blessed Christmas Season!
Merry Christmas,
Pastor Danny
