Pastor’s Thoughts

Transition is never an easy path to chose but when you follow God it become necessary at times. I would like to thank you church for making us feel so welcomed. God has taken care of us in so many ways throughout our move, how He loves His Children. We are still in the process of getting to know each of you and that will take some time. Just hearing and trying to remember your names right now is one of my priorities.  My hope and prayer is that I will sooner than later become your pastor not only in word but in relationship.

The Bible teaches us a valuable lesson about getting to know each other. When Samuel came to Jesse to anoint one of his sons to be king, it was somewhat surprising who God had chosen.

·       1 Sam 16:1 …go, I will send thee to Jesse the Bethlehemite: for I have provided me a king among his sons.

1 Sam 16:10 Again, Jesse made seven of his sons to pass before Samuel. And Samuel said unto Jesse, The LORD hath not chosen these.

Each of David’s older brothers passed before Samuel, each seemed to be the better choice from our vantage point.  However as the eldest and strongest brother passed before Samuel God spoke, “But the LORD said unto Samuel, Look not on his countenance, or on the height of his stature; because I have refused him: for the LORD seeth not as man seeth; for man looketh on the outward appearance, but the LORD looketh on the heart. 1 Sam 16:7

We are sometimes quick to judge others at their first appearance. We want to make up our mind toward them in haste for some reason. We look at the way someone dresses, we notice their outspokenness or quiet spirit, or maybe a personally feature we like or dislike about a person and chose to accept or reject them on that bases. Shouldn’t we endeavor to know one another’s heart? Longsuffering and patience are both mentioned at characteristic or aspects of the Holy Spirit’s presence in our life. When we learn to love one another, follow the leadership of the Holy Spirit, and do our best to find good in others, we can experience the true fellowship the God offers to His children.

May God bless,

Pastor Danny
